My village name is Toru Maira. It is situated in the south east of Sheikh Maltoon -Toru-Mardan. It’s a highly
populated village. It has Two Hospitals situated at Qasim &-Gulbandi.
EDUCATION:
The literacy rate is very high in Toru-Maira. There are three high Schools
for boys and One High-school for girls. There is one Degree College for boys.
HISTORY:
In the past it was also known as the "Bukhara Sani". The name was given
because of well educated people and the trend for education. A great number of people
from other areas used to visit Toru In search of knowledge from the Scholars.
The well known religious scholars Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, Mawlana Sayed Gul Badshah
and Mawlana Inayatullah are all from Toru. The great Historian, Hafiz Rahamt Khan also
belongs to this loyal Land.
Politics: The people of my village are democratic. They take part in elections with great enthusiasm.Pak-Tehrik-Insaaf, Jamat Islam, Peoples Party, Awami National Party, JUI and Pukhtunkhwa MAP all have local support.

POET: Taj MohammadMuhmand(Nyamat-Khan Kalli), Zakir Ullah are the
famous writers of my village. Another writer Sher Farzand has written the book "Tareekh e Toru" about the history of this village. The poet Mahboob Ali Mahboob has written the
famous Pushto poem “Da Pukhtunkhwa Tasveer” which is probably the most popular poem
of recent times.
